Embark on an Adventure of Reading! Meet Long John Silver!
Summer
is here! With it comes fun, relaxation and stillness to reflect, read, or
to be. A great time for our soul to
savour the moment and our mind to engage in fun summer reading.
Any
teacher will tell you reading is a great practice to building skills.
Grammar. Vocabulary. Writing and of course, reading. Particularly,
the speed of reading and one's comprehension of the story being offered to
either inform or entertain.
A
great classic is "Treasure Island”
by Robert Louis Stevenson. An adventure on the high seas in the Caribbean,
fighting off pirates and looking for a buried treasure. It can take us
all back to a gentle, calmer time as children as we sat under a tree away from
the sun, or ventured into a camping tent on a rainy afternoon, waiting for our imagination to take us back in time!
