Seven Reasons to Join Us in Canada this Summer!

Educating the World Through Canadian Connections

Over 16 million international visitors explore Canada each year.  They are attracted to its natural beauty – forests, mountains, glaciers, lakes – and to witness wildlife within reach.

Naturalists love Canada, however there are visitors who like to explore our cities.  The country’s value to multiculturalism and the friendliness of Canadians draws people from the around the global.   It’s one of the most livable countries in the world, offering a range of activities to teach, learn and explore the land and people through parklands, beaches, cultural attractions and history.

Here’s Canada’s selling feature to the world traveller and life long learner of adventure:

Canadian cities, towns and hamlets offer food, friendship, laughter and history.  The most popular destinations are Toronto, Montreal Quebec City, St. John’s, Calgary, Halifax, and Victoria.

It’s affordable.  Given worldwide currency fluctuations, and cost of living prices Canada can support any budget.  Although Toronto ranks the most expensive city in Canada with a ranking of 152 out of 211 from the Mercer Cost of Living Report, 2014, it is still affordable given other world city rankings.  Ottawa boosts itself as one of the most affordable cities on the continent.   To appease the curiosity in the world on affordability of international cities: London (12), New York City (16), Paris (27), Dubai (67), Abu Dhabi (68) as the most expensive cities in the world whereas Kuala Lumpur (115 and Jeddah (175) are reasonable.  Listed below are the most expensive cities in the world by region:

Americas
New York, USA
São Paulo, Brazil
Los Angeles, USA

Asia-Pacific
Hong Kong
Singapore
Tokyo, Japan

Europe
Zurich, Switzerland
Geneva, Switzerland
Bern, Switzerland

Middle East/Africa
Luanda, Angola (ranked the most expensive city in the world)
N'Djamena, Chad
Victoria, Seychelles

Canada boosts many natural wonders.  We have the famous Niagara Falls  – the most powerful waterfall in North American and with world recognition with over 6 million cubic feet of water falling over the crest of the falls every minute, of every day.  It also has the Bay of Fundy situated between the provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia fills and empties over 200 billion tonnes of water twice a day.  It creates the highest tides in the world, reaching more 16 metres.
Then, there are scenic drives along the Cabot Trail, which brought the first Scottish settlers to Canada.  It’s two lane highways are on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean bridging water, land, and people all together!

Canada is an outdoor playground. There is a lot to do – explore parks, mountains, and beaches.  Participate and laugh by camping, skiing, golfing, fishing, hiking, and canoeing.

Culture and celebratory events and festivals have Canadians sharing, laughing and enjoying themselves such as the Toronto Summer Music --  the Shark World Championship – a sailboat race on the Ottawa River – a fitting  Celebration to host a festival for the largest producers of blueberries in the world.

Interesting Attractions in Canada.  As much as we embrace our natural beauty, Canada has many man made wonders.  For over 3 decades the CN Tower held the record for the tallest free standing structure  where the brave at heart can walk its edgeor explore Quebec city as the only walled city north of Mexico – and outstanding cultural attractions that include world-class museums and galleries such as the Royal Ontario Museum, Art Gallery of Ontario,  the Canadian Museum of Nature  and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic displays the only permanent exhibit of historic photographs and artifacts from the Titanic.
Canada values its people.  It is a country comprised of many nations, cultures and faiths.  It respects its diversity, and embraces these differences to share, learn and grow as a people and nation.
